Episode 12 | "Something Bigger Than Me"

Arjuna O'Neal

Arjuna O'Neal was born and raised on the east side of Detroit, Michigan with two siblings and just his mother to care for them. His surroundings were governed by violence, emotional abuse, drugs and endless cycles of traumatic experiences, which negatively influenced his perspective on life.

At the age of 19, he was shot in his femoral artery, arriving to the hospital dead on arrival. After 14 hours of surgery and a major blood transfusion he miraculously recovered. However, he was paralyzed from the waist down for a year, which led to a deep depression from his endless self blame and shame.

Thankfully, he was always reminded by his supportive mother that his life could be transformed for the better if he committed to changing his story. Moving forward, he spent the next 10 years working on how to develop a genuine self-love relationship.

Arjuna now holds a Master Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Business, Associates of Arts in Business, and a deep passion for spreading awareness about conscious parenting. He is recognized as a certified; non-violence peace ambassador, 500 - RYT yoga instructor, and mindfulness & meditation facilitator, and has been teaching since 2012.

In addition to raising his own children, Arjuna is the CEO and founder of the nonprofit, Share Necessities, which focuses on teaching our youth to understand the importance of leading a balanced, fulfilling and mindful lifestyle. Arjuna recently opened his first brick and mortar facility in the heart of South Central, Los Angeles called the Next Level CommUNITY Center. Arjuna is also well known and a sought after transformational speaker. He facilitates his Mind Elevation workshops to corporations, universities, and has taught over 8,000 plus students his tangible strategies. The program focuses on helping youth and adults alike to rewrite their traumas and painful experiences and take their life to the "Next Level".
